Dr. Betsy Swope graduated with a Ph.D. in Psychology from Temple University and holds an undergraduate degree from West Chester University. She is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Lehigh Carbon Community College. Her professional interest and expertise focus on data analysis and interpretation related to educational decision-making and improvement. Dr. Swope has extensive leadership training with emphasis on strategic planning and project management. She has been recognized professionally many times including: being named to the American Association for Women in Community College; receiving the League for Innovation in Community College Rouche Excellence Award; and being awarded the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award.
In addition to the EEACS Board, Dr. Swope serves on the External Affairs Committee of the Lehigh Valley Financial Literacy Center; the Board of Trustees of the Swope Foundation at West Chester University; the Board of Trustees for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center (SPARC); and, as a Reviewing Member for the Eleanor and James Latta, Jr. Scholarship Foundation. When not so engaged, Dr. Swope enjoys cooking, listening to jazz, watching documentaries, urban adventures and boating on the Chesapeake.
