Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) Update

Allentown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires that all students who take the
Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) do so in-person. This year, EEACS
students will be taking the PSSA on their devices, however they must be in the building to do
so. Please keep in mind, Pennsylvania uses the PSSA to comply with accountability
requirements in the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and each state is expected to
achieve 95 percent participation on it’s statewide exams.
The PSSA will be given to 3rd-8th grade 4 Day in-person students and virtual students at
EEACS. The testing dates are listed below. Testing times will be from 8:30am-10:30am each
morning. If a student misses one of the testing dates, they will need to come to the building to
make up the missed assessment on the scheduled make-up days.
